Interact with Norwegian Fjords
The Norwegian Fjord breed is a light draft horse from the Western coast of Norway. The breed is prized for its versatility for riding, driving and draft work. Ironwood Farm is one of the largest breeders on the East Coast and we always have an assortment of stallions, mares and foals on premises.

We provide literature on the breed as well as "I Love Norwegian Fjords" buttons.
$15 per person; all ages welcome, no charge for children under age 3. Group size 10 or less. Contact us about your scheduling needs.
Fjord Form and Function
Learn about how to assess Fjord conformation *form" as it applies to movement "function" for its intended use. Review highlights from Wayne Hipsley's clinic assessing Ironwood Farm's horses. Learn how an expert considers key aspects of the Fjord horse. This activity takes place at the Inn. Refreshments are served and handouts of educational materials provided. Then apply learnings on live Fjord Horses in our ring at the farm. Assess angles, look at movement at the walk and trot, and train your eye. Approximately 1.5 hours
$25 per person; all ages welcome but recommended for ages 10 and above. Group size 6 or less.
